On Friday, February 6, a member of the Murdock PTA Board attended Georgia PTA Day at the Capitol. This annual event provides PTA leaders from across the state the opportunity to learn more about issues impacting students and schools and to share their local perspectives.

During the event, Georgia PTA shared its 2026 priorities, which include promoting safer schools, strengthening school nutrition programs, supporting student mental health, and advancing funding equity through the Quality Basic Education (QBE) formula.

Our Murdock delegate joined representatives from Mt. Bethel and Eastside Elementary Schools and met with a member of the Georgia House of Representatives to share these priorities and highlight the importance of supporting students, families, and educators in our community. Attendees also learned about a new literacy initiative that will be implemented in grades K–3 through the Georgia Early Literacy Act of 2026. Read more about this program.

We are proud to have Murdock represented at the state level and remain committed to keeping our families informed about initiatives that support student success.
