National PTA Reflections
For over 50 years, the National PTA has honored its commitment to arts education through the Reflections program, which provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts - boosting student confidence and success in arts and life.
The theme for this year is I Belong, and entries are due October 27.
Each year, the PTA Reflections program offers students a platform to express their unique perspectives and interpretation of a student-created theme. For the 2025-2026 school year, the theme is “I Belong!” This concept was created by Ben Morgan from Boise, Idaho as part of the 2023 Reflections Theme Search Contest.
At the time of submission, Ben Morgan was a 6th grader at Lewis and Clark Middle School PTSA and was inspired by the sense of belonging and connection he has with his friends, family and community.
“I have found belonging with my family and friends. The people in my classes can also be like part of my family, even though we aren’t directly related. For me, “I Belong!” means I know where I am accepted, and I know that I can be myself there without being criticized or judged.” – Ben Morgan
Explore the theme through these categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, visual arts or special artists.
Awards and Exhibits:
All participants will be awarded a Certificate of Recognition from Murdock PTA. Students placing first and second in each category at our local school level will move to the East Cobb Council level. Winning entries at the East Cobb Council level can then move on to state and then national.
Student entries submitted to the national level go through two rounds of review by esteemed arts professionals across the country. Over 200 students are recognized for their achievements in the arts and their works are exhibited throughout the year. Top national-level winners are provided prizes and scholarships and their works are showcased and exhibited.
