Mark your calendars! Here's what's coming up as we head into the new school year

  

1st thru 5th Grade Open House – Thursday, Aug 13 — This is a parents-only event to come  and meet your child's teacher. PTA will be there to answer any other questions you might have. Schedule below:Session 1: 6:00–6:50 PM
Session 2: 7:00–7:30 PM

 

General Membership Meeting – Friday, Aug 14 @ 8AM — Come join us for a quick 15-minute PTA General Membership Meeting at the PL. In-Person is recommended, but we will also provide a virtual option to join us remotely.

 

Spirit Night – Raising Canes

Murdock Library Commons Volunteers
Keep the heartbeat of Murdock organized and tidy. It takes many hands to keep the books shelved, dusted, organized, and ready for the students.
Chick-Fil-A Breakfast: September
Join PTA in passing out the pre-purchased Chick-fil-A breakfast items, ensure students eat and return to class and clean up after.

Conference Week Snacks & Treats
Bringing in fun items to help keep the teachers well stocked for the busy week of conferences.

Thanksgiving Lunches
Lunch schedules are split into two grades per day. We invite parents to volunteer on the days they aren't joining their own child for lunch! Once we finalize the calendar for assigned lunch slots the sign-ups will be posted!

Book Fair: Fall 2026
Murdock Fall Book fair is coming this November! We will be looking for Volunteers for setup, help with each grade level and break down. Stay tuned for more details!

NEW TO THE PTA WEBSITE in 2026-2027

We have added the 2026-2027 budget to the Our PTA tab, upholding the national PTA values of Collaboration and Accountability.

 

All volunteer opportunities are now visible on one page! No longer do parents have to search for links across multiple emails for all of the PTA's volunteer opportunities. Volunteers can plan ahead and increase impact while decreasing effort!

The Murdock Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and Murdock Elementary School Foundation (MESF) are complementary organizations who fill in the gaps not covered by the Cobb County School District, and we do so in different ways. Learn more about how both organizations support Murdock Elementary.
