PTA General Meeting Recap | December 12, 2025

 

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent PTA General Meeting! We covered several important updates and shared ways families can stay involved as we head into the spring semester.

During the meeting, we introduced the Nominating Committee for the upcoming school year and discussed opportunities for parents to serve as elected officers or committee chairs. If you’re interested in getting involved, or just curious what a role looks like, we’d love to hear from you.

Budget Amendments

We also reviewed and approved several budget amendments to better support teacher appreciation, student activities, and upcoming school initiatives. Review the entire budget >

 

Approved updates included:

  • Reallocating funds from classroom T-shirt expenses to support the 5th Grade Picnic and teacher gifting
  • Creating a new budget line item for Thanksgiving Lunch
  • Increasing the teacher appreciation budget to reflect expanded support
  • Adjusting Lumi platform (credit card transaction) fees based on updated costs
  • Establishing a new line item to support planning for the school’s 50th Anniversary Celebration

 

Following the meeting, parents stayed for Coffee & Conversation with Principal Zach Mathis, where we discussed insights from the 2024 Georgia Parent School Climate Survey (GPSCS) and shared ideas on how our school community can continue to improve parent experience and engagement.
